Capper Central
animebabe and Moon Queen arrived at Capper Central, taking advantage of the Technican technology by traveling to Paris for a little shopping. They found a lot of Cappers in the cafeteria staring at The Gray Zombie, who was trying to eat lunch. Both of the lady Cappers walked over to his table and sat down with him.
"So," anime asked, "what did you do this time?"
Gray Zombie explained about the visitor who mysteriously appeared and who referred to him as 'Uncle Gray'.
"And you have no idea who she is?" asked Moon Queen
Gray Zombie shook his head, "Says her name is Opus1432. Sounds like a name for a Capper, only I don't recall ever Capping with someone with that name. Matter of fact, none of the Capper's have heard of her."
"Where is she now?"
"Tolstoy's office. She came unarmed, so he figured it would be safe to talk to her alone."
animebabe picked a french fry from Gray Zombie's plate and started eating it, "Were you going to eat this? Good. So, what do you think is going on? Parallel Earth?"
Gray shook his head, "Nope. Hobbes says that a vortex to a parallel universe has a similar energy reading that a vortex to another dimensional universe, only with a slight deviation. The energy readings he was getting was completely different."
Moon Queen looked at the Cappers, who were still looking over at Gray, "And since, she somehow knows you, these guys are confused as to what's going on, right?"
Gray shrugged, "I dunno. Maybe they think I'm just extremely good looking. You think I should become the Illustrious Gray Zombie?"
anime picked up Gray's brownie and started eating it, "You may have to kill DanZero to get the title, oh by the way, were you going to eat this brownie?"
"Yes, I was."
"Too bad."
Before Gray Zombie could stop her, GlitterRock tapped him on the shoulder.
"Hey, Gray," he said, "Hobbes needs you in the command center, says you have a message."
"Message? From who? Whom? Ummmm....Who the hell's sending me a message?"
"I don't know, Hobbes wouldn't tell me."
"Ok, I'm on my way." he then turned to animebabe, "I'll deal with you later."
animebabe smiled, "Oh, I am so scared. I cannot stop shaking I am so scared."
Moon Queen laughed, "Sarcasm fits you, anime."
"Oh, it's a gift."
Capper Command Center
Gray Zombie walked into the room. DanZero and E B A were on duty.
"GZ" E B A said, "anything new to add about your alleged 'niece'"
"Nope. Not yet. Hobbes, what's the message?"
Hobbes brought the message up on the big screen, but read it at the same time, "Important we speak with you. Come to Sunshine Cab Company in New York. Signed, A Friend."
"Cab Company?" DanZero said, "You know what it means?"
Gray Zombie nodded, "Yep, seems the alien cab driver* wishes to speak with me."
"Oh yea, I forgot about you telling us about that."
"Guess, I better go. Beats hanging around here, waiting for Tolstoy to finish with our guest."
Moon Queen walked up behind Gray Zombie, "Mind if I tag along? Haven't really been on any important missions since I joined up. Plus, I'm interested in seeing the alien cab driver."
"Sure, why not. Hobbes, we're going to need the destination for the Sunshine Cab Company."
"Coordinates are already set. I hope this doesn't add to more trouble for us." Hobbes said
"I don't know. We'll be back soon."
And with the push of the button on the wristband, The Gray Zombie and Moon Queen disappeared. At that same moment, Tolstoy and the guest, Opus1432, walked in.
"Where are Gray Zombie and Moon Queen going?" Tolstoy asked
E B A answered, "He had an urgent message, they went to check it out."
DanZero looked from Opus to Tolstoy, "Anything wrong?"
Tolstoy looked at Dan, "Gather the rest of the Cappers. We are going to have a serious crisis on our hands."
Sunshine Cab Company, New York City
Gray Zombie and Moon Queen walked into the garage of the cab company. It looked like any other garage of any cab company. There were cab drivers sitting around, talking, working on cars, etc. Gray Zombie looked and saw the cab driver that he met that day, in human form. The driver saw him and walked over to him.
"Good," The alien cab driver said, "You got my message. This another one of your teammates?"
"Yea," Gray Zombie replied, "This is Moon Queen. MQ, this is....do you have a name?"
The cab driver smiled, "I've adopted the Earth name 'Judd'. There is something going on, and I think you and your team should be made aware of it."
Gray Zombie looked around the garage, "Is everyone here a...ummm..you know."
"Yea, you might say, it's a family owned business. Come on, you need to meet our leader."
Judd led the two Cappers into a room where two other alien cab drivers were. One had adopted the Earth name 'Benny', the other who was the leader, had adopted the Earth name 'Achmed'. Judd, then pushed a button on the wall and a hologram appeared in the middle of the room. Both Gray Zombie and Moon Queen couldn't make out the symbols that were being projected.
"This reading is the Time Stream," Achmed explained. "As you can tell, the past is pretty stable. One continuous straight line leading to the present."
"Oh yea," Moon Queen said, "Any fool can plainly see that."
"I can plainly see that." Gray Zombie added
Achmed continued, "The future however, has not yet been written.The key point in Time is The Present. What has happened in the past, is clear. What happens in the future, is yet to be seen. There are billions of possible future's....."
"You're losing me." Moon Queen said finally
"Simple," Gray Zombie explained, "Time is a road, as for the future, it's nothing but crossroads, twists and turns and such. What determines the future is all depending on what road we take."
Benny snapped his fingers, "Exactly."
"So, what's going on? Why are you telling us this."
The holographic image changed to an image of a destroyed city. Moon Queen could make out what was left of the Empire State Building.
"This is one of the possible futures that can happen," Achmed continued, "In this future, The Kortac were able to conquer Earth. Your team, The Cappers, are now underground freedom fighters. The Kortac of this particular timeline are tired of Capper interference, so they've sent an agent to the present. This Kortac has all the information that Martac needs in order to destroy you and conquer the Earth."
Gray Zombie looked at Achmed, "And you aren't going to do anything? Are you?"
Achmed shook his head, "If the Kortac conquer Earth, our people are to leave."
"So, why are you here?"
"Another time, you must prepare for this danger. If The Kortac are successful, then the future has been written for mankind, a future of doom."
Gray Zombie threw up his hands, "Fine, I'll get The Cappers prepared. But I'm gonna find out, one day, what you guys are up to. Come on Moon, let's go."
"Wait," Judd said, "There is one other thing that you should know."
Moon Queen sighed, Gray Zombie let out a low growl.
Capper Central
DanZero looked at Tolstoy. Tolstoy merely looked at the schematics on Hobbes' screen.
"We have no outside defenses?" Dan asked, "Did you ever think that maybe we'll need it?"
Tolstoy looked at Dan, "I created this entire base and Hobbes on my own. The outside defenses were to be done, but the Kortac were acting fast and I needed to get you Cappers prepared."
BrakYeller looked up from his console, "Hey, Dan, give him a break. If Opus hadn't of come from the future, we wouldn't have any warning of this."
"You're right," Dan said, "but, I'd like to go on record that I'm not happy with the situation."
"Me neither," Tolstoy said, "Don't worry Dan. I'm not going to fail any of you. I promise."
The Gray Zombie and Moon Queen teleported into the room.
"Hey, Gray," Dan said, "Guess what?"
"A Kortac from the future has traveled to the present to let Martac know where Capper Central is located, that way he can attack us without warning. Meanwhile, a few of our future selves sent Opus to the present to warn us of the event in order to prevent her future from taking place." Gray Zombie replied
"Yea, something like that. Oh and we have no defenses. So, if the Kortac come, we're dead."
Tolstoy looked up, "My guess is that they will use Dimensional Fighters. They're special ships designed to fly in the dimensional vortex."
"Hey," Gray Zombie said, "I'm curious about something. Hobbes, I want to see what the dimensional vortex looks like. Could you pop it up on the screen?"
In response, Hobbes brought an image from outside CC on screen. There were no words that the Cappers could use to describe what they saw, only that they had never seen anything like it before.
"Hey look, Dan" Moon Queen said, "It's the Capping Unknown."
BrakYeller stared at the screen, "What are those specks off in the distance? And why am I going to regret asking that question?"
"Those specks are the Kortac dimensional fighter craft." Hobbes replied, "And I think you now know why you are going to regret asking."
Gray Zombie walked over to Tolstoy, "Well, do you have a plan?"
The Vortex
The Dimensional Fighters flew through the vortex. Each one was armed to the teeth. Today, the Kortac Empire will be one step closer to conquering the dimension of Earth.
The Kortac Fighter Leader activated his communicator, "All fighters prepare all weapons."
Each of the fighters weapon systems became active. There wasn't anything in the known dimensions that could stop these fighters.
"Prepare to fire on my mark"
The headquarters that existed between dimensions, that was home to the Humans known as The Cappers, became larger and larger as the fighters came close. No matter, the Kortac destroyed ships bigger than that structure.
"Ready...."
The fighter pilots each prayed to the Kortac god of war and destruction for a quick kill of the enemy.
"FIRE"
